You are traveling to our location that could experience hurricanes during hurricane season and therefor it is NOT covered in any way by any extenuating circumstances policy of any rental platform.
The only way to get a refund of your rental fees in the event of any weather situation is to buy trip insurance and collect it from your insurance company.
We usually buy trip insurance through our insurance provider (USAA) when we book vacation rentals. (USAA Membership is required to purchase through them.)
Most insurance companies have some form of trip protection that you can buy and there is an offering by Vrbo as well. (https://help.vrbo.com/articles/What-is-Cancellation-Protection).
You may also purchase it from RentalGuardian by referring to the link in your booking confirmation.
Most providers require a 30 day advance purchase. Please note that we have nothing to do with any insurance providers and you will interact with them independently.
