Provisions - What to expect at your vacation rental

  • Posted on

With your vacation coming up, we would like to give you some tips about provisioning for your stay.

We do provide beach/pool towels (one for each guest in your guest count and a couple spares).

We do not provide beach items such as chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. Guests have left a variety of beach and sand toys and chairs, but it’s hard to know what is there at any given time and we do not guarantee anything will be there or it’s condition. Our friends at islandoutfitterstx.com can outfit you with a variety of beach gear.

Please do not take any of the pool furniture from the property. It is for the pool, not the beach. Absolutely no furniture that is indoors is meant to be outside.

We provide a few rolls of paper for each restroom, a couple rolls of paper towels, and tissues throughout the house, as well as some hotel toiletries in each restroom. On average, it's about enough for six people for two or three nights. If your party is larger or stay is longer you may consider adding some to your shopping list. In a pinch, our housekeepers can drop some things by depending upon their schedule.

We provide pool and bath and hand towels and washcloths according to the guest count in your reservation plus a couple spares.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, a small selection of bakeware, a blender, a Keurig and a 5 cup drip coffee maker, a 6qt crock pot, a griddle (no waffle maker), toaster, and usually there are spices and some other sundries left by us and other guests, but again, it's hard to know what is there at any given time, so if there's something you must have, it is probably best to include that on your shopping list.

We do not provide "to-go" type storage containers, zip-locks, coffee filters, aluminum foil, coffee, or most other kitchen consumables, so please don't forget to add those to your packing or shopping lists.

We do not provide high-chairs, pack-n-plays, cribs, or any other form of baby furniture. Those items can be rented from babyquip.com.

We do provide hand soap, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent (but not laundry detergent). Let us know if these items are low or missing and our housekeepers will restock them. Occasionally some things get broken or go missing. Please let us know if something appears to be broken or missing and we will ask our housekeeping team to bring a spare or authorize you to purchase it and reimburse you.

The most extensive grocery selection will be at the HEB in Flour Bluff, just before you go over the JFK causeway coming towards Port Aransas. There is a smaller HEB in Aransas Pass before the ferry landing. The IGA in Port Aransas has all the essentials should you prefer to shop when you get here or forget something.

We do not provide fishing poles or supplies. There are several outfitters on the island and an Academy store in Corpus Christi (on your way to the island) that have a great selection of fishing equipment. There  are also IGA and Dollar General stores a couple minutes away from the house that have reasonably priced supplies suitable for short-term use.

The golf cart fits 6 people and no more than 6 people and all occupants must be in their own seat - no babies on laps or three kids in a row. If you need an extra cart, please contact our friends at www.islandoutfitterstx.com.

And finally, while you're making provisions, don't forget about your pets. We are a strictly animal free property, so you cannot bring them with you.

Our guests always tell us they have everything they could have imagined and more at our houses, but if there's anything you think would make future guests more comfortable please let us know so we can constantly improve our guest experience.
